"Tortellino" star of the 2nd edition of the festival

Where: Casalecchio di Reno (BO), town centre
When: from 1/6/2013 to 2/6/2013

The Curious flavours festival aims to bring to Casalecchio di Reno for the second edition those typical enogastronomy products lesser known from the hills of Modena, Bologna and elsewhere. Particular attention will be paid this year to the "tortellino", the fresh made pasta filled with meat typical of Bologna.

The restaurants of the association "Tour Tlen" will propose menu with "tortellino" pasta designed by creativity and reinterpreted to match with the typical local wine Pignoletto dei Colli Bolognesi of the producers of the Consorzio dei vini dei Colli Bolognesi. The focus on the tortellino will continue exploring the chain of the production of it, through workshops of pulling the dough and insights about the tortellino ingredients, like mortadella cold cuts.

"Il Tortellino e Casalecchio, una gustosa sorpresa" (A tasty surprise about the tortellino and casalecchio): it is the title of a temporary exhibition in the Casa della Conoscenza, via Porrettana 360. On display the first authomatic machine for tortellino making (1911) realized by Officine Zamboni of Casalecchio (company still operating), photos and awards of the chefs Bazzani and Biagi (winners of the "Tortellino d'oro" from the Confraternita del tortellino bolognese).

In piazza del Popolo e in piazza dei Caduti there are the food stalls of the producers where you can discover particular tastes from the hills of  Modena, Bologna and other places.

For both days the focus on food will alternate with music, shows and special events about the tortellino. The shops will stay open with the contest about the best windows about the pasta dish.
