Terramare is an ancient village typical of the Emilia's area, in the Po Valley, dating to the Middle and Late Bronze Age (around 1700-1150 BC). Some important findings and evidence of this type of settlement were discovered in Anzola, 20 kilometers west of Bologna.

A further addition to the environmental Archaeological Museum has opened in December 2011 with the exhibition "Anzola al tempo delle Terramare" (Anzola at the time of the Terramare culture).

Two rooms house the artifacts found during surveys made in recent years. In another room there is the reconstruction of a Bronze Age hut.

The new exhibition shows the materials found in Anzola during the numerous archeological digs conducted in the territory since the Eighties. The wide-ranging and interesting data from the archaeological and environmental surveys have enabled us to reconstruct the events and characteristics of a group of settlements that had achieved a certain prosperity thanks to the fertility of the soil and a new form of social and economic organization that is a peculiarity of these populations.

On Saturday September 29  2012 at 10,30am there is a guided visit organized among the events of the European Heritage Days "Italy as a European Treasure".
